Application

Students who are nominated for an exchange semester at TU/e by the exchange coordinator of their home institution will receive a login link to the online application form from the departmental exchange coordinator at TU/e. Please contact the exchange coordinator of your home institution first, if you are interested in a semester abroad at our department.

Your application will be managed from start to finish in our online registration system Mobility Online. All the required steps, documents, and requests for services we offer are integrated in this system. For example:

  • Download forms and upload required documents in Mobility Online, such as a learning agreement, proof of your English language proficiency level, your transcript of records and ID card or passport.
  • Via the system you can inform us if you would like to make use of certain services related to visa procedures, accommodation, and insurances.

You can find further practical information regarding an exchange on the pages of TU/e’s international office. To get a good idea of what you can learn during your stay at Industrial Design, we advise you to thoroughly read the information on our external website and this Online Education Guide. Below you can find some additional information about the application process at the Department of Industrial Design.

Learning agreement

Your application includes a learning agreement in which you propose a study program for your exchange semester. We need this for administrative purposes. Please note that a signed learning agreement is not a definite approval of the courses and project.

When looking at the offer of elective courses, please note that a semester is divided into two quartiles. Q1 and Q2 are part of Semester A (Fall) and Q3 and Q4 are part of Semester B (Spring). You are expected to participate in four electives.

The learning agreement for the Bachelor exchange program must contain:

For semester A (Q1 and Q2):

  • DPB210 Project 2 Design
  • 4 elective courses

For semester B (Q3 and Q4):

  • DPB220 Project 3 Design Research
  • 4 elective courses

Preference form and course registration

After you have been accepted as an exchange student, you will receive an e-mail from our Center for Student Administration (CSA) confirming the courses you will be registered for and asking you to fill out a preference form for the project. You can give two preferences and a short motivation for a project. Preferences in forms submitted after the deadline cannot be considered and you will be allocated to available courses. Before the start of the semester, you can check our course registrations in Osiris.

Application deadlines

Applications should be sent to the exchange coordinator. You can find the address on the application document. All applications should be in her possession (fully completed) before the following deadlines:
