The coach supervises the project. A coach:
- helps you to formulate your learning goals for the project,
- supervises your project, and
- monitors your competency development during the project.
The coach offers support in understanding the different design and research processes common in the Department. Furthermore, the coach will support you in developing your professional skills. You will have to learn which design and research processes fit you and your project best. As each coach has a different preference for design and research approaches, in some projects, different coaches may team up and supervise students together.
The coach can also transfer some of the project coaching tasks to a master student or PhD candidate with appropriate expertise. However, the responsibility of the project coaching will always remain with the coach who assesses the quality of the work in collaboration with the independent examiner.
