Internships

Master BME and master ME

The information on this page applies to both the master Biomedical Engineering and the master Medical Engineering. Click here if you want to go back to the master ME curriculum page.

In the master’s program 20 EC are available for the external internship. During this internship you will be working on an individual project related to research. It is an introduction to and an exercise in participating to ongoing research. In most cases this internship is done prior to the graduation project. It is however possible to change the order after discussion with your mentor.

  • The external internship is preferably done at a research institute or company with whom (research) contacts from BME exist.
  • Always contact your mentor for the determination of the period, the subject and the location of your internship. Never arrange something on your own without consulting with your mentor.
  • The execution and the assessment of the internship are the responsibility of your mentor.
  • Get in contact with your mentor and/or internship supervisor for questions and practical issues.

More information about internships at a Dutch or foreign company can be found here: Internships and graduation projects (tue.nl)

For the design of your internship report cover, always use the right template. You can find the BME template at the bottom of this page.

When you have obtained 30 ECTS within your Master, you can sign up for 8STAGE in Osiris. You will then receive the insternship form by email. If you have not yet obtained 30 ECTS you can request the form by sending an email to CSA.BME@tue.nl. You should hand in a planning that has been signed by your mentor.
