A core competence of any engineer is the ability to design: to create something new, something that was not there before.
In this course you will learn to formulate design goals, handle external and internal constraints and manage time. You will experience the difficulties in prototype realization and the stress while demonstrating your design in a demanding test environment.
Every student will be a member of a small design team with every participant coming from a different major. Each student is challenged to his knowledge and skills to optimize the project result. In the project every member adds a complementary contribution to the project result and mutual trust is a prerequisite for success.
The products are tested for efficiency and judged on quality and elegance of design.
