All first-year master’s students enrolled in September have to follow the ‘Professional Identity Training’ (PIT). See this video to hear what it’s all about: Professional Identity Training Master Students.
The PIT is a training program designed in cooperation with students, industry and TU/e. Industry requires students coming from our university to have a high degree of professional self-knowledge and personal leadership. Knowing how your identity fits into the professional work environment is of high importance for future success in your work as well as academic life.
The PIT consists of only two training sessions in groups of 10 students provided by a leading self-assessment institute. Your student coach has been trained by this institute to guide the 2 hour training sessions. Prior to these sessions, you fill in an online self-assessment form.
The PIT does not require much effort, while the results will be of great value for your future career.
By attending the PIT, you will gain insights into:
- Your own professional identity;
- How other identities can differ, and how to deal with similarities and differences in working with peers, the professional environment and the future work environment;
- How to apply these insights when assessing options in your future career, for example when graduating, finding a job or considering a new position.
More information about this training will be communicated via Canvas 7IMPBE.
