Coaching and Professional Skills

Every student will be assigned to a coach (called a mentor). A mentor helps the student in making choices regarding courses, profile, specialization, internship, internationalization and the Final Project, as well as in considering different career opportunities.

The TU/e Skills Lab offers ample opportunities for developing your professional skills. We also offer workshops on professional skills through the mandatory course Professional Portfolio.

Academic Advisor

Academic Advisors are a resource for students on a variety of topics: you can contact them with questions about the program, courses/curriculum, the department, TU/e, or personal topics that affect your study. If you have tried to find an answer yourself and can’t, or really don’t know where to start, they are glad to help you. An Academic Advisor may also request students to schedule an appointment based on study progress. They might refer you to other campus resources like your Mentor, the Student Counsellor, or Student Psychologist if that is more appropriate.

The Academic Advisor for the Industrial and Applied Mathematics (pre-)master program is Jet Verbeeten.
