How does it work?

You have to obtain at least 50% of the required number of credits every academic year.

Examples

You are doing a bachelor program of 60 credits per year (with a duration of three years).

  • You need to obtain at least 30 credits per year to fulfill the requirements.

Please note: you need to obtain the requirements of the Binding Recommendation for continuation of studies (BSR) at TU/e which is higher than the IND requirements.

You are doing a master program of 60 credits per year (with a duration of two years).

  • You need to obtain at least 30 credits per year to fulfill the requirements.

* Credits obtained in (extra) electives are included in the calculations. If you are enrolled in two study programs, the credits obtained for both programs may be combined to meet the 50% requirement.

TU/e will inform you at the beginning of the academic year about the IND study progress check. Halfway through the academic year a preliminary check will take place to see whether you have your studies on track. The official study progress check will be done in the period October-November (following the previous academic year). If you do not have enough credits, the TU/e will inform the IND about your lack of study progress by the end of November, at the latest. Then your residence permit will be withdrawn.
