USE stands for User, Society and Entrepreneurial perspective, subjects that look at engineering from a user, society or entrepreneur perspective. After all, as an engineer you must deal with users and find solutions to our society's challenges. USE shows you the context of technology in a wide range.
Students of the curriculum 2022-2023 and before, take at least 4 USE courses: one Basic USE course and one USE-trajectory which consist out of three courses and the mandatory 5 Studium Generale Activities (SG100)
Since the USE Learning trajectory is not part of the curriculum in the new Bachelor college, it is important that students of the curriculum 2022-2023 and before, choose a USE learning trajectory that is still offered in the coming year(s). Please check the overview elective package including USE to find out which USE learning trajectories are still offered now or in the upcoming year(s) and visit the course catalogue to make your planning accordingly.
USE exemption for educational minors
Students from curriculum 2022-2023 and before, who follow the 2 educational minors from ESoE, can submit a request for exemption of the mandatory USE learning trajectory to the Examination Committee of Mechanical Engineering.
Transition to the new Bachelor College
In the new Bachelor College (After Revision), starting in 2023-2024, USE learning trajectories are no longer part of the curriculum. Current USE learning trajectories will be phased out or transformed into ‘regular’ elective courses and packages.
