Project description

Efficient affordable cooking solutions are urgently needed in countries where reliance on firewood and charcoal poses environmental and health risks. Cooking consumes a significant amount of energy. Especially in remote, densely populated areas, but also in refugee camps, solar cookers provide a sustainable alternative by harnessing sunlight.  The challenge of this project is to develop a foldable solar cooker that is lightweight, easy to transport, affordable, user-friendly, and environmentally sustainable. With this system, it should be possible to cook at least 1 kg of rice within a reasonable timeframe.
