Double Diploma

Are you looking for an additional challenge to your current program? Or are you also interested in the Bachelor program of another department at the TU/e? Perhaps a double diploma is an option for you.

The double diploma program is an option in both the bachelor and master programs. As you don’t need to complete the two full programs of both departments, it’s an attractive way to complete two diplomas within TU/e.

General information about the internal double diploma can be found here.

If you are considering a double diploma you should contact the academic advisors of both departments and look into the different sets of requirements of the programs. You should be clear about your learning goals and motivation before deciding on a double diploma. It might be that following a double diploma program in the Master is a better choice for you, depending on your specific learning goals.

You also need to look into your planning: when will you follow which courses? It might be good to consult both academic advisors on this from each department about feasibility of your planning.

To make your double diploma official you need to submit a double degree request to the Examination Committees of both programs. You can find the guidelines for submitting a request in the EC Request information BA on the Forms and Files page. Submitting the double diploma request is done via this webform.

Contact details of the academic advisor at ID and the Examination Committee ID can be found on the Contact page

Rules/requirements for submitting a request

A total study load of at least 225 credits and at most 270 credits is required to obtain two ‘bachelor degrees' with corresponding certificates.

Requests for a double degree must be submitted to the relevant examination committees before the start of the third year of your TU/e Bachelor enrolment.

ID Bachelor students who want to take a Double Diploma must complete the core program of ID as outlined in the PER.

As an ID student who started in the curriculum of AY 2023/2024 or later, you need to choose a minimum of 20 credits of elective courses from the ID curriculum as part of your double degree program.

Note: at your second study you need to fulfill a new BSR. Contact the academic advisor of that study to propose a plan for your BSR to show that you can gain enough credits within an academic year.

Note: Please check if there is a selection procedure in place for the other Bachelor of your choice. If so, you will need to take part in the selection procedure, since you will start in your first year. Deadline for applying for selection is on January 15, for starting in September after that.
